Solutions as Good as Gold: Metalor Technologies
Metalor Technologies, an international leader in precious metals and advanced materials, is a supplier to manufacturers of electronic, medical and electrical equipment.
Metalor's products include a high-purity silver powder used in the fabrication of a variety of microelectronic products. Density and surface area are critical to the powder's quality and performance, but these properties are very difficult to predict or control in production.
Using Minitab's Design of Experiment (DOE) tools, Metalor set out to determine how density and surface area were affected by three key process inputs. The results: improvements that decreased process variation by 50% and made Metalor's silver powder production more efficient and cost-effective.
