Global Six Sigma & Business Improvement CEO of the Year 

Minitab congratulates Tom Farrell, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Dominion, who was recently named the winner of the prestigious Six Sigma & Business Improvement CEO of the Year Award.

Minitab sponsored this year's award, which will be presented at the Gala Awards Dinner during WCBF's 4th Annual Global Lean Six Sigma & Business Improvement Summit. Held in Orlando from October 13-16, 2009, this event brings together senior executives who are passionate about quality improvement.  

Dominion, a longtime user of Minitab products, became the first energy company to launch Six Sigma companywide in January 2001. Since then, all of Dominion's business units have successfully applied Six Sigma methods to reduce costs, improve efficiency and increase revenue. Karen Mueller, Dominion's director of Six Sigma, will accept the award on Farrell's behalf.

Farrell was announced as CEO of the Year late last month, at the same time WCBF's independent judging panel announced a total of 43 finalists for awards in 12 other categories. Minitab congratulates the finalists-and we are proud that all but two of the 34 organizations they represent are Minitab customers.
